I'm Yukino. I'm a 20-something student of all things possible & improbable, and I hail from Europe. This here is a reclusive review/ record log of things I read & watch. There used to be a lot of fanfiction here, but I have decided to keep that record in private and/ or on LJ, so now all that's here are books, films, anime, and perhaps an occasional musical album. I doubt the latter, because I can't talk about music for the life of me. :P
I don't exactly post reviews and I don't exactly rate & rec. I just log what I read/ watched, sometimes with a couple of words added, is all.
My tastes vary greatly. One day I'm raging about the latest romantic comedy, the next day I'm all for action. As far as films go, I don't really watch horror & thriller genres, unless it's by a director I really like or one of my favourite actors has a role there. As for books, I truly and honestly read (and finish!) pretty much anything that I get my greedy little hands on. With anime & manga it's somewhat a cross between my take on film & books.
My reading & watching habits are quite sporadic. I could go for prolonged periods of time without watching or reading anything new, and then would end up consuming 100 films & 40 books a month. That's just how I roll. *jigs about* I also tend to stay away from hypes until the wave of praise and/ or criticism dies down. It's not that I'm trend-o-phobic, nope. It just so happens.
Speaking of criticism, you will more than likely notice that I tend to disagree with ratings and reviews provided by most critics. Many of those tend to focus on the wrong thing while spewing their opera on any given matter.
It's all subjective.
Aside from my main study field (Anthropology), I also tend to take on many vocational courses throughout the year. My preferences lay in languages, arts & crafts, and computers. Currently (July 2008) I'm taking a 4-month sewing class. So yes, there will be schoolbooks here occasionally. :P
It is worth noting that some of the material consumed will contain mature content & sexual themes, of hetero- and homo-sexual variety. Not to mention other things that some people strangely consider offensive. If world views, religious views, and general opinions not matching with your own offend you, do choose a different destination, and go on with your jolly life.
